The club has been host to many members with a love for watersports and sailing since 1952, when it was officially opened to its founders. Over the years there have been many changes to the club, the Brandvlei Dam was joined to the Kwaggaskloof dam to form the Greater Brandvlei dam, but one thing has never changes. Visitors to the club still enjoy braaing, watersports and great company.

On arrival at the club today you will pass “Egret “ which was once our proud rescue vessel for the Brandvlei Dam, but has now been retired and restored to her former glory for all to enjoy.

Kite Surfing
Brandvlei dam has become a popular kite-and-wind surfing hot spot over the years with enthusiasts making the most of the summer South-Easter. When the wind picks up, all motorboats come off the water and massive water expanse is left purely for the kiters to enjoy and onlookers to admire in awe.
Watersports
The Brandvlei dam is the perfect playground for all boating enthusiasts, motor or wind-powered. Our slipway has been revamped and in-season we have rescue on standby and the launching fees are minimal. Bring your skis, slalom, wakeboards, tubes etc and enjoy the awesomeness of our waters.
Note that SAMSA rules must be adhered to: Skippers must have a skippers license and each boat needs a Certificate of Fitness and a Buoyancy Certificate. You will have to present this upon launching. If you do not comply with these rules, you will not be allowed to launch.
